Lyrics

It's quarter to two, and I can't fall asleep, I'm feeling so blue
I was rockin' the red, fired up for Game Seven, what the hell Ted?
My emotions soared, when Alex scored, but it's the same episode...
so make it one for the losers, and one more for the road

I got the routine, you get us all excited, then rip out our spleens
A 3 to 1 peak, they let it slip away, Caps they're never ON FLEEK
A team full of frauds, they're choking dogs, staying true to their code
so just make it one for TROTZ TROTZ TROTZY, and one more for the road....
See ya' next year fellas

I love "sad Sinatra" and Joe you delivered the goods on this one, no doubt. "What the hell, Ted?" one of your best lines ever!

Nice! And credit to John Fitzpatrick - who made this idea complete when he read my rambling idea about a "somber version of Trotz Trotz Trotz with sad vocal over lounge piano" and immediately summarized it by saying closing-time Sinatra. Oh - And I can vouch for the single afternoon turnaround on this one. Well done.

Haha I was hoping it was before the end of the game. I'm a Penguins fan and had to go through this last year against the Rangers... Did not envy my Caps fan friends last night

Jason can vouch. He wrote me yesterday about a sad version of TROTZ TROTZ TROTZ, and he also mentioned maybe a SINATRA style, closing down the bar type of sad song. BANG!! The light came on because I love this song. Wrote it last night , during the game....
