Lyrics

I had an idea last week to maybe try an a cappella thing at some point, so when I saw the idea JG posted I thought I'd give this a shot since I've sang this tune quite a bit. I feel like I've unintentionally done about 20 Cillizza songs now. There's another verse, but I just did the first and last... like any person in the South when singing a hymn. :)

The Presidents Club, best seats I've found
For such a mooch like me
It'll set you back a couple grand
But I got in for free.

The redhead, she's my wife, you know
My friend clerked for Scalia
We met at a school just for the rich
Named for Lincoln Chafee

Based on "New Britain" by Anonymous (Now most commonly known as the tune used for Amazing Grace)

Boom. Cillizza tweeted or mentioned in show once how much he hated a capella music. Eat It, Cillizza. I was happy to hear another a capella jingle!

Thanks :) The juxtaposition is also what really drew me to this one.

Beautifully done Jason! Pro-level production and snark. Something about irreverence combined with reverence makes these so great.

Wow. Turned the message of forgiveness and redemption on its head! 100 times more powerful than any parody I have ever heard.

So soulful, unlike its subject matter. Very great.

awestruck. no matter how hard i tried or how much time i dedicated to the skills necessary to do it, i would never be able to record something that sounds this good.

This makes me wanna attend the Church of Satchmo and read from the Book of Nigel with Reverend Fuse leading the choir. Genuinely beautiful.
