Lyrics

Hearing Tony describe how he's going to do a live read, and then reading the ad, made me think what would a jingle version of that be... I also enjoy him giving a commentary on how they want him to talk of his first hand experience with the product/service, but since he has none he throws it to Nigel or Michael to handle that part. Of course he narrates that as he does it, like reading the stage directions during the play. I exaggerated that a bit and ended up with this rather obscure idea. Thanks to Kj for agreeing to this.

So now I'm gonna sing a song
It's a live jingle, a real important one
but I've got no experience to draw upon
I'd regale you with some lyrics about a wonderful story
But without first hand history, it would go rather poorly
Now Kj can take over, and sing something funny
Is this how podcasters make all their money?

Now I'm singing about doing live reads
I sing the words and then they're heard from your google machine
If I keep singing will I get funded by underwear, razors, and seats?
Do they pay for jingles about live reads?
I'm singing a jingle about live reads...

A parody of... music in general, that I made up when I picked the guitar up to work on this silly idea. I may have unintentionally ripped off several songs in doing this... I have no idea.

This has surpassed Grapefruit Juice for $3.69 as my favorite all time. I remember when Dr. Tony used to trash Dan Patrick for reading ads.

How I've missed Jason's tomes introducing his jingles.

I just love the concept of this. It's too over-the-head of 90% of Tony's listeners but I would hope a few prodcasters like me will love this one.

Tony once asked the age old question: Can you emojify yourself?

While listening to this, I think to myself, "This is so dumb. In other words, it's perfect. And is this meta? Or is this a meme? It's probably an emoji. I can't remember the difference. Who has experience with these things?"

Reply: I am glad to read of your enjoyment. Speaking of chord numbers, I even threw a 6- in there and a 2,3,4 walk up!

This is a comment on this jingle. While listening to this jingle I had many thoughts that I felt compelled to share, so that Jason and KJ would know that this was enjoyed by me. I thought of both "Flight of the Conchords" and "The Garry Shandling Show" and those were both good thoughts, I cannot laugh in these comments, but there was laughter in the listening to the jingle that this is a comment for. This comment is probably too long. Stop typing and hit the button.
