Lyrics

After using Google Translate for another song last week, I started thinking what would it be like if someone listened to a Google Translate-style version of the show, or only paid enough attention to the show to have a 50% grasp of the inside jokes. And say this person then decided to write a jingle that included all the inside references they knew... but they were all slightly off in various ways... some more than others. Instead of being "In Mr Tony's club" they would be in the "Cult of Mr Anthony"... where "angry" becomes "bittersweet", "orange" is "tangerine", "Littles" become "Smalls", and so on, right down to some of the clips they play during the show being not quite right.

So I wrote a jingle, then I went back and mangled the references and ended up with this thing. Which is even dumber than most dumb stuff I come up with. This is a great original song that just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I love these guys
I know all the memes
For the cult of Mr Anthony

He's bittersweet and tangerine
He takes our phone calls and plays our Ditties
It's the cult of Mr Anthony

News Channel 980, and "Bite Me Nancy"
It's the cult of Mr Anthony
We all love Mr Anthony
The Smalls love Mr Anthony

The Tulip inquiries, Wilson from PDI and
Folk stars "The Clarkes" with Howard "Junior" Fineman
Chip Cilleeeeza measures Carville's inseam
And news that's read by Kevin Sheehan

Mail at the Mayflower
Eisen's story about a bee
A shark picks game against Reggie the Chimpanzee
A stern guy named Nige, well he runs the scene
Texts Michael Phelps when it is drizzling
Oh, It's the cult of
All The Smalls love
Mr Anthony

Excellent intro paragraph. And the jingle is great too. Stay off the cliff.

Thanks! I thought it appropriate that Kip's name be the only thing not lost in translation, since it is now forever mangled in our current version of the universe.

This is undoubtedly your most creative and elaborate introductory paragraph yet! Inspiring. Oh, the jingle is good if you like one incredibly funny line after another and a spot on performance. The Tulip is my favorite followed by Kevin Sheehan. Who's that guy??

Yep - this one is way far out there. I hadn't done much in the same vein of the Kenny Rodgers story or Candy Area Codes in a while, so was time to fall off the cliff again.

After listening to this UI think you mo ed to Amsterdam, not LA. Keep mainlining whatever it is you mainline. Also I laughed the whole way through.

Great sounds, but I'm starting to worry. You're through the looking glass, Jason. I blame L.A.
