This was supposed to be it, a short & sweet jingle that paid homage to all the minutia of the mailbag. I wrote this over a couple of days in early June 2013 and was inspired to use WDSTF only because of the "Hitler stamps." That offensive and absurd "gift" to Tony just seemed so well suited for a verse of WDSTF. Burke rhymed with "work" and the rest just fell into place. The fade-out ending was an afterthought, I didn't want to just fade after the chorus and wanted to imply that this tune was part of a greater patchwork of Tony lore. After several folks complained that Nigel had "cut me off," Nigel & I exchanged few e-mails and he said they'd play a full length song if I recorded it. So I spent a whole car ride from Annandale, VA to Avon, NC brainstorming the lyrics that made it into the extended cut (and driving Michelle nuts since I was driving & she had to take notes).
