The Roosevelt Swing
Lyrics
Note: This single, by Pappy Nager And The Thousandaires, topped in at #90 on The Muncie (IN) Hit Parade for July, 1937. The Family history tells that it was also a big hit in the Zanesville market. Was glad to learn that my great-aunt Millie had saved a copy after the tire factory fire of '44, which as we all know sadly took with it the neighboring Seamus McGill's Record Emporium.
Note Note: Kudos to Jerry for giving over part of his podcasts to our jingling heritage.
Lyrics:
Hoover said he had a plan
Now I boil eggs in a tin can
For FDR I’ll gladly sing a tune
That is if I don’t die of Influenza soon
He says he’ll find some work for me in time
If he does we’ll put him on the dime
And if the Supreme Court doesn’t fall in line
He’ll add nine
For jobs, jobs, jobs!
