Lyrics

I was once out driving after a long hour at PTI
When I thought I’d take in a screening
At the Mazza Gallerie
I sat there near the seats for disabled patrons
As I watched I felt an urge
An urge to depart before the end of the movie
Unlike in Bethesda where I won’t even wait for the movie
It really put me out
The idea that me, a drone-fearing, bald-headed, talk show host
Should have to wait like people to see a movie
So I just left, hmm
Away from my parking place
And using my credit card
I returned to my comfort zone
Back home in DC
And searched out
Every kind of treat
There was Sky Bars, midges, Triscuits, Kind Bars
Swiss cheese, Egg noodles, four-percent cottage cheese
Out of the freezer I took a carton
I hunted for a spoon
And I got started
Time to
Drink your wine, eat that ice cream
Drink your wine, eat that ice cream
Drink your wine, eat that ice cream
Drink your wine, eat that ice cream

I finished it off, what would Yuriel think?
Can I still be hungry, how tight are my Zegna jeans?
Now wait a minute
I know I’ve got some Grater’s lying around her somewhere
And I know that’s good
But as I pondered the sink,
I wondered, could I really continue to indulge from the carton and the glass?
So I called and raised the question
With Michael, and wanted to know if he thought that I should just
Drink my wine, eat that ice cream, etc.

As first done by Eric Burdon and War. Can you dig it?

I'm unfamiliar with the source material and don't really feel a need to get to know it because this is the version I dig!

Oh I dig it man. I love the delivery. I've heard this intro music like in the background of things before, but never knew it was this song.
