Looks like sports are gone, my friend
No games to watch. There is no end
I flip through channels and the shows go by
What will they talk about on PTI ?
There’s no March Madness, no golf, or NBA
What can I say ?
The day that sports—went silent

So on my couch I sit alone
No scores are showing on my phone
Life is so boring I am so perplexed
Should I call someone or should I text ?
But I’m not sure what things we would talk about
I guess that’s out
Now that the sports—are silent.....

I think I’ll try to watch the news
But what network should I choose ?
This one just rants and that one only raves
The talking heads, they all seem so depraved
Maybe I will just—hang out with the family
I guess we'll see

Well, that idea has gone to hell
At least there's still the NFL
Hear my words, come let’s communicate
But what I said just made my spouse irate!
And our voices all rose into a roar,

Because the sports—are silent....

So once again I sit alone
With Tony’s voice as my ringtone
My phone lights up, the screen it starts to glow
The volume’s up and TK starts to crow
And he says, “Welcome everybody to the Tony Kornheiser Show”
And off we go
Breaking through the sounds of silence.
