Lyrics

Submitted a version with shorter fades in and out to the show. Learning my lessons about the time limit?

That Fruit’s Insipid

Sliced into that Red Celebrity
But I was only making one BLT
Put the rest into the fridge, and instantly that fruit’s insipid.

Yeah, they’re good homegrown, unless you’re Vito Corleone,
but don’t you get ‘em cold or they get blander. It’s also bad for bananas!

Buy before they’re ripe, but only if you know
to put ‘em in a bag for a day or so,
But the fridge is a no-no, unless you like your fruits insipid.

Utterly fantastic. I was yelling at my phone when they said they didn't know you - "Yes you do, the license plate song and bumper music!" Then I thought of the "unfamiliar" Brad Weiss and remembered who we're dealing with here. Awesome stuff, Scott.

i would say it is unpardonable for him to have already forgotten Scott, but that's his move. it will only get worse outside the Browse-about.

So Patrick, you're saying Scott is essentially hoping Tony remembers to forget him? Perfect!

Early on during a three or four jingle run on Old Guy he mentioned me favorably with Aro and Negrelli (a very good day for me indeed). A few weeks later he credited a jingle I did to someone else, and then corrected himself, with the wrong name again. To be forgotten is the 2nd and perhaps most critical stage of the quest.

First time Tony mentioned my name he said we have a great song by Steve Lipton. No wait, Steve (some other name) So he loved the song I had nothing to do with. Affirmation baby!

For some reason, he can't remember you until he first forgets you. It seems part of the initiation. Or it's a "Memento" kind of thing. Either way, relying on his memory for anything specific (other than where he got good parking) seems a losing proposition. Keep 'em coming sounds real good to me!

Either quit now while you're ahead, or become obsessed and write hundreds more. Those are your options. Congrats!

I'd have hoped that after reading my email with my first jingle, an email from a past co-worker about hearing the first jingle, then playing one of my songs for bumper music Tuesday (TK said it started out "a lot like Don Henley."), they might remember me. Guess I'll just have to keep writing more of 'em…

Thanks, you all. I was a little worried about stepping on toes after I realized that this one's been done before, then I heard two 867-5309/Jenny songs in a row on the Prodcast and figured we're all good.
