News: Luck Benched Indefinitely with Lacerated Kidney

Well RG3 and Andrew Luck were drafted
One number two, the other number one
Well, RG3 's not played since he got blasted but
With a brutal hit on Luck
With a brutal hit on Luck
Adding two and one will get you none

With a brutal hit
With a brutal hit
With a brutal hit on Luck he’s just some schmuck

Now RG3 has suffered some concussions
Torn ACL at twenty-four years old
Now RGIII has had his own concussions but
With a brutal hit on Luck
With a brutal hit on Luck
He’ll be on the turf and knocked out cold
[everybody]
With a brutal hit
With a brutal hit
With a brutal hit on Luck he’ll be out cold

They’re always throwing blitzes at you
And an immobile Andrew Luck’s a sitting duck

Offensive linemen must protect the football
No matter if it’s handed off or thrown
Offensive linemen just protect the football but
With a brutal hit on Luck
With a brutal hit on Luck
He might cough it up and break some bones
[big finish now, everybody]
With a brutal hit
With a brutal hit
With a brutal hit on Luck he’ll break some bones
With a brutal hit
With a brutal hit
With a bit of Tony Romo’s Luck

[It is just so fun to say "With a brutal hit,
With a brutal hit" etc.]

Started grinning. Then big smile. Until "He might cough it up and break some bones" - then huge laugh out loud. I'll be singing this for days. Just glad it wasn't about The Human Splint as TK so fondly calls my QB.

John, i worked at a group home in colorado for a couple of years, and one of the gentlemen i worked with was autistic, and he LOVED musicals. combining these two factors would lead to him watching the same musical 4 times a day all week. all of this to say that i have seen My Fair Lady DOZENS AND DOZENS of times, so i think i can say, with authority, that YOU NAILED THIS PERFORMANCE! and of course it's very well-written too. great work, guys.

Of course this was written BEFORE the announcement of the lacerated kidney, so a big shout out to Andrew, who gave the story its timeliness. It didn't seem so relevant after the Colts beat Denver.

My doctor says no more heavy lifting since I lacerated my kidney trying to sustain the Nigel accent....

Steve, you don't know how funny that is. Chap wrote me about collaborating on his song idea, and he gave this title, but I read it as the Wings tune. And then I wrote 2/3rds of the Wings track and that's when we discovered the mix up. I may still finish that one, just to round out the story

So good! Just glancing at the title I was expecting Paul McCarney and Wings "With A Little Luck." But this is a revelation.

Holy crap, you nailed the vocal style on this thing. Such great phrasing in the writing and the performance. It's amazing all around.
