Lyrics

Ever since Brad did the incredible "50 Ways to Write a Jingle" mash-up I've wanted to do something like this, and today it just all suddenly happened out of the blue. So here's my contribution to both the Hallelujah and 50 Ways sagas. (It's harder than I imagined to rhyme song terms with people's names, but I sorta got through most of it before adding a couple easy random names in. I'm sure I missed some great ones, but this one was fun so I'm always glad to do another verse if there are enough.)

I heard there were many ways to write
A jingle that might get played by Nigel
And it's probably more than 49 - by 1 or 2 yeah.
A melody from a Negrelli
Or a refrain from Kj
A ballad with Brad
Those can all be had
Or do a song with John - there's lots of them to choose from.

Write an ode for Joe yeah
Do tune a with June yeah
Sing a hymn with Jim yeah
Or just do it yourself yeah

Combo parody of "Hallelujah" by Leonard Cohen & "50 Ways to Leave Your Lover" by Paul Simon... I guess. I mean, I don't even know anymore man.

I'm humbled to even be put in that list of people, especially by someone that I find brilliantly funny. Also - I have been called a heartless mechanical machine at times, so the analogy at least fits in that way. :)

Jerry may drive the car, and Joe may be the gas; Brad sees where we're going and John is the stylish interior; Kj's tunes are what we're all listening to. But you...you're the engine.

Just like mine only the opposite! Kind of a parody of an homage to a send-up. Travishamockery. And good!

Well done Jason. And if you can't decide to credit Cohen or Simon I'd guess that makes it... an original!
