Lyrics

There's nothing really original about this - but I am confident it is the first jingle to include KiSwahili lyrics (Google 'em!)- which makes me feel a little bad since the original is in iSiZulu. Jingling about an unremarkable lawn invasion while I am ensconced on the edge of the actual Serengeti (true, as some have heard) makes this a bad joke on me. As it should be.

[mpumbavu wewe mpumbavu
mpumbavu wewe mpumbavu]

From the day you departed Long Island
Have you ever once been to a zoo?
You must know that fawns do not come from a jar
They’re living creatures just like me and you

Your dog by now has adjusted
And that doe will keep her young at bay
So just try to conceal all the panic you feel
Rock Creek Park is not that far away!

Don’t be a jerk all your life
Won’t you turn your hose off?
Though you failed biology
Don’t call 911!
Just go back inside
You can stay in the big house
Don’t be a jerk, a jerk all your life

From The Lion King

My kids were physically fighting this morning, but when I stopped them my 5 year old daughter said "Dad! We're just doing a mashindano to determine the dominant one!" I live in my own personal Serengeti apparently.

And one more question for you Mr. Weiss - since it is winter in the southern hemisphere does that mean you get Friday TK shows down there?

Waiting for Brad to go all Paul Simon on us with his next jingle. Steve coined it - ABJ.

Don't worry Brad, this is still the first jingle to be recorded at the edge of the Serengeti, on a Friday in early June. And I had to use google translate for my KiSwahili. This is great.

I couldn't have said it better than Jerry, Jason, Steve, or Sean. Your "dedication" to jingling no matter where you are on the planted is remarkable ;)

You're right... this IS perfect. The BGVs are so great, and the whole thing is hilarious. On top of all that, my favorite part is the song credit.

Oh crap!! I forgot about Luke's Swahili glosses of ME in the Jingleprint - so there's nothing AT ALL original about this. Perfect.

This is great but that chorus lyric is killer.
