Lyrics

Dolphin, Albacore, Lox. Anyone smell a pattern here?

If you walk through the aisles at Whole Foods you’ll find a small shiny box
24 bucks a pound is more than Zabar’s gets for their lox

But when you’re trying to atone
As every Weiss and Weinstein knows
A breakfast nosh has gots to go
Cuz it’s Yom Kippur

Yom Kippur is a day when you put down your fork and knife
Yom Kippur is a day Hashem inscribes you in the Book of Life

This reminds me of the only time on the old WETM-570 call in days that I got blown up mid-parody on-air - I was engaged to a nice Jewish girl whose family I was trying to impress and I went searching at card stores for a "Happy Yom Kippur" card. Couldn't find one so I made one up myself. [She still married me]. Anyway knowing Tony's favorite group was the Beach Boys, I wa performing "(I Wish They All Could Be) Ashkenazim Girls" Gary blew me up.

Such a great twist on the title. This also sounds like it coulda been recorded in the same era as the original. So excellent.
