Lyrics

I used to use the stairs
until I started geriatric care
I’d walk the dog and I’d yell at clouds
Now Liz is in charge so that’s not allowed

One day she took me for a ride
then we stopped at Ingleside
And as she laughed and sped away
I realized that I'd have to stay

It’s 4pm now it’s time to feed me
the same mashed carrots that Bootsie’s eating
I texted my son said “How are you, kid?"
He texted me back “New phone who dis?"
For some reason I can't explain
everyone here seems to know my name
Say I was a millionaire
but that was when I used the stairs

A parody of Coldplay, “Viva La Vida"

I heard this on the mailbag while driving and thought, “This is one of Jerry’s best vocals ever. I need to remember to comment on the site when I can use my hands.” Of course, I forgot by the time I got to my destination, then couldn’t remember who’d been parodied when the thought came to me again a couple weeks later. This morning, “Coldplay!”
