Lyrics

Well, I got Chessie home now
and she’s grown at a quite alarming pace
Marking all my carpets
and scarring up my face
I bought her a nice little dog bed but she tore through that real fast
Now I’ve wrapped all my possessions in layers of bubble wrap
It seems I’m losing every battle and tonight I lost the war
I bit Chessie on her little dog ears
and she just stared at me as if to ask “What was that for?"

Chessie, I never pictured
how it was gonna be
When I take you for walks
You clearly to think you’re walking me
Your bites are putting holes in my $900 jeans
Oh Chessie, let’s start over and you can be the sheep
Oh Chessie, who am I kidding…? Clearly, I’m the sheep...

ANOTHER parody of Joshua Kadison, "Jessie"
