Lyrics

Some folks want to build a train... drivin' me insane
It's called the Purple Line.
Take a trip to Bethesda... on the government dime.
But stay off my golf course, I'm teeing off at nine.
We're gonna stop that Purple Line.
Don't cut the logs out there... there's a frog out there
Called the amphipod.
They say it's endangered... so let's respect it, by God.
Call for another impact study, so we can waste more time.
We're gonna stop that Purple Line.
It's not been easy for Metro as of late
So do we really need this here?
Doesn't make a lot of sense
When your ads say "fewer fires this year."
I've seen all you politicos and regular Joes in your cars and vans.
There's plenty of buses for you public transportation fans.
I don't have any reasons, but me, myself, and mine.
We're gonna stop that Purple Line.

I love the concept of this parody & you've peppered it with some really great lyrics. I especially like "so we can waste more time" and "I don't have any reasons but me, myself & mine." They're great callbacks to Billy's lyrics while fitting the theme of this version perfectly!!
