Lyrics

(I imagine a telephone message from Tony to Michael.)

Hello, Michael its me Dad
I saw a license plate but I forgot what it
Said because I'm feeling really rather sad
I lost a glove - I really liked those gloves
I guess I'll have to buy another pair, but on sale

Hey, is it raining?
It is raining here
I took the dog for a walk and it wasn't raining when we left, so we went
She barked at the squirrels
And we both got rather wet

lyrics: Robert Szkolnicki
vocals: Joe Aro

lyrics after 1m ....

(My Dad, calls me on the phone, and leaves a message)
License plates, weather checks (sometimes a question)
I lost a glove of mine (did you check under the seat of the car)
Is it raining where you are (a little bit but I think it will pass)
That's my telephone Dad, gives me a call, he leaves me a message
That's my telephone Dad, gives me a call, he leaves me a message

I started looking into the ELO catalog. Kind of got lost with Eldorado and Face The Music. Great albums and over 40 years old. At the time I first heard them as a teenager I thought that nothing sounded like that. Nothing sounds like that today. Oh and I haven't found any jingle material. The songs kind of meander around which in this jingle is perfect because that is what I expect Tony's phone messages to sound like. Joe did a great job picking the best 1m bit.
