Lyrics

You say Howard had a folk era? Well, this is about the most folky folk song I know. Big thanks to Kj and John N. for providing vocals and piano/cello respectively to this and making it much, much better. Shout out to Rob for listening through a couple early versions of this.

He's the Intergalactic editor of the Huffington Post
But you know it's his folk era that we love the most
From Tony's show to Hardball, Howard's political Pope
But when he gets on Bass or 12 string, man he sure is dope

Howard Intergalactic Fineman, lives in DC
Politics and guitar licks, all part of his pastiche
Howard Intergalactic Fineman, lives in DC
He'll break it down, whether you're talking about, bass lines or policy

At the confluence of the three rivers, he formed his band The Classics
They all came in with Dylan, convinced him to go electric
And I've heard they certainly were much better than Steely Dan
The bat mitzvah of Mark Lichter's Sister was like The Beatles on Sullivan

Howard Intergalactic Fineman, lives in DC
The Cadillacs?! NOW where they at?! Not Pro Journalist Honorees!
Howard Intergalactic Fineman, lives in DC
As a journalist, he just can't miss - but you should hear his harmonies!

Parody of Puff the Magic Dragon - Peter, Paul, and Mary

This is obviously amazing. I of course am still partial to the original but this is a worthy sequel, and great performances by everyone.

You know, sometimes when I sing these things, I'm focusing so much on technique that I can miss just how brilliant the lyrics really are. This one is chalk full of great stuff. I mean, pastiche? Not to mention the guitar, harmonica, piano and cello. Did I miss anything, boys? Thanks so much for including me on this one. It was a blast!
