Lyrics

Well I’m famous
but not as famous as I want to be
I still scare away celebrities
Don’t they watch PTI?

And I'm working
even though I’m almost 83
I’m not leaving ’til they fire me
‘cause I think I’ve earned that right

You know you’d think by now I’d have more repute
I’m on TV in every bar although I’m always on mute
I spent three long years calling football games
How does Anna Kendrick not know my name?

Don’t you know who I am?

I'm famous, so I’m allowed to be a total jerk
to a puny little hotel clerk
I’ll never reap what I sow

I'm famous, but not as famous as I ought to be
George Costanza played me on TV
on a really short-lived show

I'm famous
Famous...
Famous…

A parody of Billy Joel, "Shameless"

The mute line is my fave but I absolutely loved Tony talking over the song about the hotel clerk thing. Nice comment from Gary too. Congrats!

I love how outraged he acts about the hotel clerk. that makes me SO incredibly happy. I just kept listening to it over and over. well done, sir!

TK's reaction today was classic: "I AM on mute," "I didn't actually DO that!"

Much in-studio love! And how great the way TK reacts to the hotel clerk story! Great!

This whole concept was built around the chorus (obviously) but the "mute" idea is something I've wanted to address for a long time. So many of the people I work with have no idea who TK is yet he's on TV not 10 feet away from us at every happy hour.

Very nice. Definitely agree on the "mute" line. By the end of the year we'll probably have this album completely covered as well.

Love this one. I had this song written down as an idea for the all Billy Joel prodcast episode, mainly because Billy said he wrote it trying to be like Hendrix. Glad I didn't get around to it, cause this is much better and really funny throughout.

More than half way thru Storm Front, I see ;-) This line had me ROFL "You know you’d think by now I’d have more repute I’m on TV in every bar although I’m always on mute "
