So Long, Old Sport
Lyrics
Here is an offering from the Von Little singers to close out this years festival. Featuring Brad Von Weiss, John Von Patrick, KJ Von Ohnstad, and Skylar and Graycin Von Connelley... with a special appearance by Captain Von Connelley.
I wrote the lyrics with tweaks from all and we escaped the sales weasels at the conclusion of the song by driving like Nigel down Rockville Pike over the border and out of Maryland.
Graycin's and KJ's second line got cut from air... too long... and maybe too quiet for Graycin....
I had a blast as always working with others... thanks so much!!!!
Kids -
There's a sad sort of moaning
From the Little's online
And Billy Joel will be playing soon
And up on Rockville Pike
A bald and orange man
Is popping out to say wear white
(wear white, wear white)
Without regret he’ll tell us
It’s seems he’s overzealous
To say goodbye
-All-
To you
-Kids
So long, old sport
You leave us each July
-Marta (KJ)-
I'd like to stick this cocktail fork in your eye
-Kids
So long, old sport
Dad can we say, f-u?
-Fredrick (John)-
F-u, F-u
To Raju, raju, raju
-Kids
So long, old sport
Say, shall we play Stonehenge?
-Leisel (KJ)-
I'd like to stay
And taste Johnny Walker Blue
(talking to the captain) yes?
-Captain (Carroll)- no!
-Kids
So long, old sport
Are we to say, I had that
-Kurt (Brad)-
I boil and chill
My eggs and say goodbye
-Brigitta (Graycin)-
I'm glad your gone
I'm certain not to cry
-Louisa (KJ)-
He gripes, he whines
He surely will not fly
-Gretel (Skylar)-
The orange one has gone
Over the bridge and so must I
-Kids
So long, old sport
And on your bike, wear white
wear white
wear white
wear white...
