Lyrics

Turnaround, every single day I listen to Mr Tony
and I dig his old guy sound
Turnaround, he tells a funny story and the Littles
start working on the lyrics for a mailbag jingle
Bocce Ball, last year he lost a red one but thank God
The Refugee Safeway had a small raking device
Turaround , a jingle ‘bout an auction for a round of golf with you
and your f---kin kid that Tony will hate

Turnaround Littles, every single day they write a song
Turnaround Littles, yeah f---kin’ every single day they turn it round

I need to write a song tonight, about the bald guy off the tele
And if I get the lyrics right, it might be sung by Michelle Negrelli
Or Joe Aro, or KJ Ohnstad;
Patrick Moffat or John
Fitzpatrick might just sing my lyrics out over night
And Hampton Nager or Brad Weiss will make it sound tight.

If I hear another time, about that Bocce Ball,
Or how he is an English Major, I’m calling Smaug
I need to write one tonight
The Littles’ll turn it around tonight
I guarantee they’ll turn round it tonight

Once upon a time he was orange and bald
Now, well he’s still orange and bald
Nothing I can do, the Littles love Tony a lot

Once upon a time, I think that I had a life
Now I’m writing jingles oh God
Nothing I can say, my life now stinks, like a lot....

I can't believe this aired! In Nigel's defence, Michelle' name is in the tag line.... anyway I've had the pleasure of both Michelle and KJ previously giving life to my lyrics. I've now had KJ's Irish cousin get credit for Michelle's work. I've some kind of trifecta! Clarification email sent!

Wow, comparisons to Michelle and Wonder Woman on the same day. Big day! Yes, that was my initial thought too...even though they've aired a number of Michelle's stuff before and a handful of other women too. He's also mentioned many times that he's always thrilled when he learns that women are fans of the show. So, I think he knows that lots of women listen to his show, but honestly, I just think he forgets. He hears the jingle and then his mind is already on to tomorrow's show. He needs Junior to help him remember. It certainly didn't sound like he was aware of other female listeners though today and as Joe eluded, proper credit should be the priority. I'm thinking there will be a correction tomorrow. But, I don't think I've mentioned yet today that this song is brilliant so here it is! Bravo, all!

Buried deeper than that, Kjerstin, is that Tony thinks he has only one female listener. You're Wonder Woman hanging out with a bunch of dudes at the Hall of Justice.

Congrats! Hampton's right: we know exactly who has the fantastic voices! While I certainly have no qualms with being compared to Michelle, proper credit is due. Lost in all this is that Tony seems to believe that people cannot correspond internationally using the Google machine. He's worse off than I thought.

It's pretty easy to flub the credits and can create some funny moments. "I'm not familiar with Brad Weiss" is still an all-time classic.

Seems to me that when something airs, Nigel and Tony should be giving out the proper credit to all involved. That said, I was cracking up when this aired today. Great stuff folks!!!

I'm shocked this aired, I thought it was too self-referential. :) looking forward to hearing the podcast (and maybe a correction on Friday).

Just played live, and the fanboy swoon was simply awesome! Congratulations! The flub on the contributions by Los Negrellis is unfortunate, but WE KNOW EXACTLY who has such fantastic voices. And thanks for the shout out, too!

as an aside, when I hear Michelle's voice I think of the lyric from End of the Line about jingles ruining her marriage and think "this woman must have the patience of Job."

agreed. this was another tune I was trying to convert but just could not come up with any ideas, and the concept on this one is fantastic. it's like we're all hyenas trying to run down a...whatever hyenas eat. zebras? I'm really surprised no one wrote a song about balls for today. that one was a layup.

This is so great. The performance and the lyrics in that last part especially - the disdain is very palpable... that "oh God.." line cracked me up. (Whoever did the "Turnaround" background vocals - that guy sounds like he might be alright too. Maybe he should be encouraged to try some jingles too.)
