Lyrics

Signs

And the sign said “Get your free Subway sandwich inside this van”
So you sent Khalila in to get you some lunch and she came back with empty hands
You said, "This ruins my whole, over-privileged day, what will I do?"
Well we hear you say that and we imagine that we would never think as you do
Whoa, oh, oh

Whine, whine, every day you whine
Chewing up the scenery, drama all the time
Hate this, can’t stand that, all you do is whine

And to get to your cavern on radio row you made Nigel drive
So, you jump on in the front seat and you shriek
"Hey, can we just try to get there alive?”
And then you’re out on the links about to freak out when you see javelina kin
Since Wilbon’s there, he tells you to your face, “Man, let’s go grab some dinner.”

Wine, wine gulping down red wine
Talking ‘bout celebrities, name dropping all the time
Turn left, no turn right, didn’t you see that sign?

Now, hey Mister Tony, let me repeat
You've got to have hotel wi-fi there in your suite
You can barely text, no you can't tweet
Did you take a plane to get here?
And TK said, “I got to have a bowl of Xanax before I fly, uhhh”

A parody of the first record I ever bought

You are kind, judofuse. That high harmony track is just a screechy falsetto buried in the mix. If you heard it isolated, you'd run away. Anyway, Gary said the same thing about Tesla. I have to say, I've never heard THAT version, But I was 8 or 9 when I bought the 45 of the original the day my family bought an actual stereo record player. That was a cool day.

That high harmony is where it's at. For a long time I thought this song was by Tesla, since the first version I heard was their cover. Yeah, it's a miracle my taste in music survived my childhood somewhat intact.
