Lyrics

On a warm summer’s evening
I synched up my iPod
turned on Tony’s podcast
and faded off to sleep

then I woke up a screaming
about Raju Narasetti
and how he fired Tony
‘cause the Post was too damn cheap

Don’t know if that’s really how it unfolded
but that’s how Tony told it
Raju sent him on his way
like some worthless bum
& even though Tony's made of money
he wanted to stay on the payroll
because it was his first job
in Washington

A parody of Kenny Rogers, “The Gambler"
