Lyrics

During the week that we visited PTI, my wife and I made our first trip to the Holocaust Museum. Most of my family left Eastern Europe in the wake of the pogroms early in the 20th century. But there, embossed in glass, were the names of the Austro-Hungarian towns - Podwoloczyska, Rawa Ruska - from which my great grandparents fled, no doubt leaving behind ancestors unknown to me to be exterminated.

Sorry to be a downer, but this jingle is meant as a Swiftian riposte, using satire to denounce the most serious of matters. Finding someone amusing does not preclude them from also being despicable.

After "Palisades Park"

Last week I guess I should have known better
When I referred to the Holocaust centers
It’s like I’m writing for Melissa McCarthy

The girl that plays me!

I made comparisons that just don’t work
Now even Bannon thinks I’m kind of a jerk
I’m getting good at making apologies

I’m clarifyin’
Hey, I meant barrel bombs
What do you mean “Passover?”
Wait! I’ll rearchitect
Who said anything about Hitler?

I heard the Kushners shouting “Oy gevalt!”
As I denounced that Bizarre Ashad
Now there’s a guy I wouldn’t wanna hug
If I were Putin!

What leader ever was so filled with hate?
Could be true lots of Jews were reaccommadated
Way back when at the Holocaust centers
