Lyrics

For my 150th (!) it's the tale of two Jasons. Big props and major thanks to Jason Fuse for creating the backing track. He's so good and so generous with his talent, it was a real pleasure to do this one. And of course, the other Jason is the one and only Jason ISBO. CIllizza and Svrluga should enjoy.

How to Forget

In your face with each screed
A little airtime's all he needs
Got a shouter here

A little feed, a lot of wine
And he'll be yacking the whole time
A good bit's out of fear

He won't stop telling stories
Swears most of them are true
A few of them work best when he works blue

Comments strained, oh egad,
Didn't mean to sound that bad
It was years ago

It happened quick, headlines blared,
So they kept him off the air,
A few weeks or so

His blasts go out on TV
Broadcasts and falls asleep
Just after eating ice cream by the sink

They haven't fired him yet
It's still a pretty safe bet
It's just a matter of time, I'm guessing

They haven't fired him yet
It's still a pretty safe bet
It's just a matter of time, I'm guessing

Yeah, I'm aware! Though I bet Isbell would get a kick out of it.

Todd, hopefully you've noticed that Elephant & 24 Frames have been given the TKJ treatment as well. Great music often makes for great jingles, especially w/ a Jason Fuse accompaniment!

Has to be one of your finest vocals ever John! I love it. Jason, master of the missing backing track, among other things. Just beautiful stuff here.

The build up to the chorus is perfect and the refrain is great. Also I love the source material. Great job!

Excellent idea by John - the refrain makes me laugh every time I hear it. And so smooth on the vocals. I really enjoy working on tracks like this one - and often I'm just grabbing the basic chords/feel of the song and then winging the rest of it - so it's great to hear when people like the result. Anita is making a strong run to lock down Commenter of the Year for 2016 already. Thanks again for the invite John - I'm glad to be part of 150!

Anita has it exactly right; to take a wonderful song and make it a wonderful jingle that is STILL (another) wonderful song. Wow. Mad skillz!

Great job by everyone. You know I come for the laughs but so often end up staying for the music. Such talented writers and singers, every one. Sometimes I can't tell if it's "live" or is it Memorex as far as the instrumental piece of a jingle so I appreciate it if it's mentioned in the notes so I can marvel anew at all the talent I get to enjoy.
