Lyrics

And now we bring to you from the studios of the Travisham Theater "Your 1932 Cavalcade of Stars." And here’s Rudy Vallee with his up-to-date version of “Life is Just a Bowl of Cherries”

Life is often rather scary
Don’t get too close too me, I don’t know where you’ve been
I kvetch, I rant, I worry so
Though I have squirreled away lots of dough dough dough

My plug-in wireless makes me wary
I’m afraid to turn it on
The list of the things I detest is quite long
So don’t get me started, or I’ll go on and on
Life is often rather scary
Hey kid, get off of my lawn!!

Mr. Negrelli asked me to see if I could find something from my collection of 78s that I use to podcast on my Victrola. Featured on the TKJingles Weekly Podcast.

Jingles were much more off-the-cob back then, yet still hard-boiled and kippy. This one will certainly blow your wig. Google didn't have a 30s slang word for "funny"...but that final line would be whatever that term would have been back then...I'll go with wingdingulent.

This old-timey jingle is brought to you by the USS Maine. When you're looking for your next reason to kick the Spanish out of the Western Hemisphere, remember the Maine!

It was worth getting out the HAZMAT suit to dig this one out.

Amazing that you were able to preserve this tune for 80+ years - but we're all better for it.
