Lyrics

With apologies to anyone I missed (and everyone I didn't), an ode to Jinglefest:

A long, long time ago
I can still remember how
His yodling used to make me smile
And I knew if I had my chance
By clever plot or happenstance
That maybe we could chatter for a while

Years went by and something changed
Planets aligned and stars arranged
Good news came from Jerry
A third fest would be merry

I seriously doubt it if I cried
When I finally met his jinglin' bride
We all should sure be certified
But Jingles will never die

So, bye, bye, every Little ally
Concert's over but we know the party never will die
We all did some really stupid stuff, I won't lie
Singing jingles 'bout a bald orange guy
Checking Safeway's produce supply

Did you see that Jason Fuse
And KJ Ohnstad on the uke
It was such an awesome sight
And do you believe that Joe Aro
Can hit those unbelieveable notes
And can you tell me where the hell was Brad Weiss

Well I know that I'm no Robert Berg
Incomparable with every word
I hope it isn't wrong
That I try to sing this song

Oh, I was a solo traveler to the show
But you made me feel like I was known
My love for y'all has only grown
The Jingle will never die

So I'm singing ...
Bye, bye, every Little ally
Concert's over but we know the party never will die
We all did some really stupid stuff, I won't lie
Doing things a normal man would decry
Taking pictures at a McDonald's sign

Now, for four years we've been on a roll
And running this must take its toll
But that's not how it used to be

When the Jester sang for Mr. T
With a jingle from his family
And a voice that came from you and me

Oh and while Super G was looking down
The Jingler stole the mailbag crown
The show was something new
A community started to brew

And while Patrick heard the Cajun coming
And Jordan's hairline started running
Steve Lipton soon would be strumming
Despite blairh's cries

And we were singing ...
Bye, bye, every Little ally
Concert's over but we know the party never will die
We all did some really stupid stuff, I won't lie
In that basement's where they film PTI
Cindy's Nails is over there, it's alright.

Oh, helter skelter in a summer swelter
Bus 2 was hotter than a fallout shelter
A/C broken and suspension dying fast

Bagel City we couldn't pass
And we descended on them en masse
Tell Jeannie that the bacon there is first class

Now La Cheeserie had sweet bouquet
The camembert and morbier
We all ran through the store
Buying t-shirts, beer, and more

And the cottage cheese was 4-percent
Found grapefruit juice with great intent
The avocados were a big event
This jingle will never die

So were singing ...
Bye, bye, every Little ally
Concert's over but we know the party never will die
We all did some really stupid stuff, I won't lie
La Fitness we're about to drive by
At Chatter we will see Tony's mic

Oh, and there we were all in one place
The jinglers ready to showcase
The songs that brought us here again

So come on, John Fitzpatrick sing your song
Shad's haikus are never wrong
We all awaited Luke's Kornheiser-man

Sean Morrissey was on the stage
The Bigs and Littles were all engaged
No angel born in Hell
Could play the piano so well

And as the music rang into the night
Beeson sang with all his might
Remember Gary laughing with delight
The day that piano died.

And were singing ...
Bye, bye, every Little ally
Concert's over but we know the party never will die
We all did some really stupid stuff, I won't lie
Getting kicked out of the bar at midnight
While a giant was disabling lights

I met a guy who lives near me
And another whom I'll never again see
We all had fun then went our separate ways

I came home to my family
And tried to explain what I had seen
They looked at me with eyes that overglazed

Before we left were hugs and cries
Shaken hands and warm goodbyes
Doesn't need to be spoken
A fourth one we're all hopin'

And the jingler I admire most
Did all he could to be our host
Please don't let this thing be toast
Don't let the jingle die

Bye, bye, every Little ally
Concert's over but we know the party never will die
We all did some really stupid stuff, I won't lie
Singing jingles 'bout a bald orange guy
Jingles 'bout a bald orange guy

Bye, bye, every Little ally
Concert's over but we know the party never will die
We all did some really stupid stuff, I won't lie
Making memories to last our whole lives

This was awesome. My wife asked me why I was laughing? I said "Do you want to hear a new jingle?" She said "No, put your headphones back on." She doesn't get it.

As the proprietor of this site & writer of 8,000 of these songs I gotta say I really appreciate the effort that went into this. And again, you captured just about every moment for posterity - La Fitness!!!

The lyrics are spectacular. Were it not for the fact that James has a bit of difficulty holding a tune, I would say this is as good as whatnMcLean did years ago.
