The Schvitz
Lyrics
The backstory on this one is extensive. Growing up in Cleveland, my Dad often talked about a place called "The Schvitz" where you could go for a nice steam and then enjoy a steak with some old half-naked guys in towels. The image of the "naked steak joint" was a constant joke between my brother and I. So when I started writing lyrics for the YMCA parody "AARP," I tried to think of things that old men do for fun. The "steak and a schvitz" was absolutely the first thing I thought of. Then, on the 11/2/2015 episode of the TK Show, an e-mailer from Cleveland commented that the AARP jingle reminded them of "The Schvitz" in Cleveland and proceeded to describe the image that was seared into my mind as I was writing that jingle.
THIS jingle is my attempt to commemorate the whole concept.
You know this steak, this steak ain't all that bad
But don't you find it odd that no one here is wearing pants?
We had a steam
Now we're done
Why don't we put our clothes back on?
These guys seem happy, that Rabbi just winked right at me
So let's get the check, please get the check
one check is fine, in fact I'll pay for it, thanks for the Schvitz!!
