Lyrics

A love song of yearning from Cillizza to the laptop he recently lost on a plane. A really stupid idea for a song... based on one of my favorite love songs ever.

I wake from a sleep state every morning
Wondering how could I have left you there on that plane
And then I'm fragmented, but I feel like typing
But without your QWERTY, there is no way

Don't wanna think of other data filling your storage space
Or that your display might light up another's face
I'm still trying to process life without your CPU
But I just don't think I'll ever get over you

Forever you're there when I randomly access my memory
The connection we had - it's you and me, not USB
Though I may soon feel a multi-touch screen, it's true
I wish I'd cleared my browser, before I lost you
Even though your screen at times, it would turn blue
I just don't think I'll ever get over you

Parody of "Just Don't Think I'll Ever Get Over You" by Colin Hay

Thanks! So many great songs on that Garden State soundtrack... there's bound to be a good one for jingling from the point of view of a grill or elevator.

I love the idea of the tune from the point of view of a laptop - or perhaps Cillizza as though he were a laptop. And maybe he is! Have you ever seen them both together?! Next, how the grill must feel when TK is away from the beach house. Nice one!!

Thanks Rob. I have to come to accept the "your display might light up another's face" line is probably my ceiling as a lyricist - especially when it comes to love songs about lost laptops.

I haven't even listened to it yet, and still I must give you an ovation from reading this song.

Thanks! And yes, same guy from Men At Work. His original version of this song is solo stuff from the early 2000s, and it's really great.
