Lyrics

Thanks to Jason for helping me make the vocals sound better, and KJ for general encouragement! Listening to Satch describe ordering a Subway sandwich like he's seen Shangri-La was too much for me not to do a jingle. Subways are EVERYWHERE. why does he speak of them with such reverence? i don't understand this at all.

He recounted on his morning chat show
Ordering on a 6 inch roll
and took time
To describe
He told the worker man he wanted it loaded
The man said “Should we start with capicola?”
He said “No”
I want a motley mix of peppers, and tomatoes
I want to eat like common people
I want to chew whatever common people chew
I want to eat bread that tastes like Styrofoam
And American cheesefood that tastes like glue
And please don’t misconstrue, but
What else do 99%ers do?

Grab an awful parking spot
At the far end of the lot
Like some poor schmuck from Queens
In his $20 jeans
But you’ll never get it right
Even though you’re so uptight
'Cause when you’re freezing in your car
Your steering wheel could make your hands warm
You'll never meet with Aaron Sorkin
But Obama’s ready to play 18
You’ve got cliffies putting air in your tires
An extra house lying fallow across the street
While your taste buds wail and scream
In the Mayflower mezzanine

Tony thinking he's stepping down to dwell among the commoners by eating Subway at the Mayflower is such a great idea - and you crushed it.

The juxtaposition of the Mayflower with the Subway is what makes it - nifty!

And that's why he's TIRB. Never heard Pulp before (at least not that I know of). Love this. And hey, every once in a while you just gotta roll the dice and have a Subway. Even a veggie one. I love how TK views this as relating to the common folk. What next? Riding the Metro? I buy a ticket just like everyone else. I actually went through a turnstile today!

So many lile tidbits of show. Seriously, if we held the jingle grammys I don't know how you could ever lose the songwriter nod, and that's no disrespect to anyone else out there. You're just incomparable.
