Lyrics

At first I was confused
I was mystified
Kept asking what’s with all this traffic
on a Sunday morning drive
And yet I drove that road again
heading to Potomac Mills
Now after two hours in my car
I feel a rising urge to kill
Oh yes I’m stuck
near Quantico
Where was I even headed?
I don’t remember anymore
7 days a week
24 hours hours a day
you just can't move
and the HOV is going the other way

Oh no, I hate this road
Next time I’m walking
well that’s if I ever make it home
I think I heard somebody say, “Why didn’t you use Waze"
That’s so naive
This highway’s like this every day!
Don’t ever drive
I-95
Oh but if you do bring some food
or I doubt that you'll survive
every driver will be caught
in this three lane parking lot
I-95!!!!
I-95!!!!

A parody of Gloria Gaynor, "I Will Survive"

Just finished Friday's podcast. High praise from the Orange One for Jerry - His songs are perfect. I would have to agree.

Brilliant. And I thought Minneapolis traffic was bad.

Good one Jerry. This jingle should go viral because 95 is a nightmare in every state it touches. I've driven it from Maine to Florida several times. Each big city could insert their own town names. Just think. You could ruin I Will Survive for millions, not just Littles. I myself prefer this version.

Is it possible for a parody to be better than the original? This is, indeed, perfect.

And a delicious irony that "I will survive" was covered by a guy who recently just barely survived **both** a Podcast Putsch and Pneumonia

Jerry - inspired work. I was listening to the prodcast, and your explanation, of the sometimes unwelcomed process of inspiration and subsequent compulsion to stop and complete these almost completely superfluous bagatelles, in your introduction, was the perfect setting in which to inlay the song; the boldness of your choice, plus the personalization of the torturous, tortuous, of not tortious wrongful harm done to the fellow travellers on that stretch that informs the quality and the passion which you attacked the song, really the highlight of my day. It also has nothing to do with TK. Which brings to mind this question-a good parody being a good parody whatever the subject [and I cite your 'I Will Survive 95' as my first exhibit] you could expand the jurisdiction of the prodcast and the site by not limiting the jingles subject matter to the Kornman - maybe a side street on site for the display of additional subject matter. If it were only able to produce two submissions of such humor [the best humor, which always carries with it some danger] of this quality would only add to the quality of the project. It's great to hear your really selfless work.
