Lyrics

Recapping Tony's ridiculous "Welcome to 980, intern, go put some air in my tires" story from the 10/8/2015 epsiode

I just started this job today
and already met a real strange old man
He called me Cliffy and told me his tires were flat

Gave me keys to his car
I was confused but I'm still new so I was polite
And though it seemed quite bizarre
The old man appeared to be 80 maybe he's too old to drive
They're not paying me enough for this
This isn't right

This isn't right, I wanted to be on the air
on the radio at ESPN
instead I'm pumping air at a different kind of station

An internship to the stars
Maybe I'll act like that kid from last summer
who never came by
What a day what a start
Now it sounds like he wants a ride to the theatre tonight
I guess I'll take some solace in this
I left on his lights

A parody of Clay Aiken, "This Is The Night"

I have never heard this original song, but that spoken intro is so funny and instantly made this one jump about 3 levels before I even heard the rest. Very Trey Parker-esque in such a great way.

speaking of Jerry being shocked this got on: I was listening to my TK Jingles playlist today and AARP came one and I couldn't figure out how the hell that never aired. it's a *** ****** Traveshamockery!

Yes, interview the intern WHILE she is refilling Mr. Tony's tires.

no, the subtlety of the joke was pitch perfect. and then the Robert Lane allusion, and the Zombies ride thing. I feel SO sorry for the "character" in this song. you should get her on the prodcast!

I am shocked this aired, it's mostly dramatic yodeling & it's about 2 minutes too long. :)

I feel like the juxtaposition of "on the air @ a radio station" & "pumping air @ a gas station" was a bit subtle but I didn't want to bash people over the head w/ the joke. That little bit of poetry is my unexpected find from putting this nonsense together.

Maybe he's too old to drive. So well done, as usual.
