Lyrics

***Okay, so we were talking about covering jingles in an email exchange last week, and this BRAD WEISS tune has always been a favorite of mine. Since it is from 2013, I decided to add a few verses to it, but mainly kept the original lyrics....I guess the new working title could be YAKKIN/SLACKIN' ON ESPN.......I wasn't intending to share this until Jerry had a collection of COVERS for his podcast, but he advised me to upload it here since it is sort of an update to a classic. Thanks, Brad! I had a few of your tunes in mind to cover, but this is the one I decided on....

Used to have a press pass to most every game,
Got my stories in on time
Tried to write a columnette for old-times sake
Man, these fingers just won't type
I'm yackin' on ESPN
Believe I'm one lucky man, yeah
Yackin' on ESPN

I showed up down at Kilroy's like I said I would
Didn't get to bed that night
Had to call Michael on the way to the show
The rain was pourin' down all right
I'm yakkin' on ESPN
I guess I'm one lucky man, yeah
Yakkin' on ES, Yakkin' on ES, Yakkin' on ESPN

Well the Sheehan boys really dig me out
They leave no snow behind
Their dad's forecast leaves me full of doubt
Though Wilbon's never ever ever ever ever ever surprised
(Tell 'em Michael!)

I'm yakkin' on ESPN
I guess I'm one lucky man, yeah
Yakkin' on ESPN

Now the show is ending almost time to go
Let's open the mail bag
Got your email, faxes and your silly notes
We'll send a sticker if we can can can can can can can cannnnnnn!
Get on it Nigel!!

Now the Summer's here I only got one job
I'm workin' hard and that's no lie
Jason Whitlock please can you fill in for me
Vacation time from PTI

Still slackin' on ESPN
Believe I'm one lucky man, yeah
Slackin' on ESPN
Ahhh eat your heart out Junior!!!

This is excellent! Let the covers of parodies commence. I like the idea of making them more full length too.
